I Wanna Get Better

How simply cliche it is to say how we all get caught up in life. But once in a while out of nowhere something bursts into our line of sight, knocking our monotonous worlds upside down. That little something always begins with, “What If” and always ends with words involving the future.

What if you followed your dreams?  What if you bought that camera?  What are your excuses?  Where would you be now if you stopped being afraid and just did it?  Is this what you want?

Right as I was shopping, pondering whether I should buy a DSLR or not, all of the above questions hit me with a force of 1,000 bulls. Randomly. So there I was, driving alone and bawling my eyes out. I didn’t have any of the answers. There’s great panic in experiencing a breakdown of sorts, but there is also great reawakening. To be able to survive it and see the world through freshly cleanses eyes, it’s really something else.

To add my dramatic/cinematically-viewed life, the song “I Wanna Get Better” by Bleachers came on the radio. I remember hearing this song for the first time and feeling as if it was a sign. I know I’ll always struggle. And I know that this song will always be there to bring me back up with hope.

  1. Play One Republic’s “I lived”, “Good life” and or “All the Right Things”. They definitely help!
