Choosing a random roommate undoubtedly comes with a few people warning you with horror stories. Well, those people don’t know what they are talking about.
I can’t remember how it happened, but Lindsay and I became roommates. We met through this online site equivalent to match.com to help you find the “perfect roommate”. Who would’ve known then that a 60% match actually meant 100%.
I’m pretty sure we didn’t have anything in common… But that’s the greatest thing that could happen to two people stuck living together.
Over the last year and a half Lindsay has taught me so much, especially about myself. I learned patience and respect. She’s made me a better person.
She opened my eyes to the world of music. (shoutout Spotify!) Now I’m in love with songs from Broadway shows I’ve never seen. And hearing her play “Cherry Wine” on the guitar never fails to brighten my mood. In return, I’ve taught her how to hate the song “Sherry” 🙂
I guess this is a post about being open to new experiences and people. Because you’ll never know the value that living with a stranger can give to your life. *If you’re lucky, they might even become a forever friend.♥
I’ve been a bit stubborn over the past 2 weeks, and I apologize. Writing this post made me realize… Moving into an apartment next year is just another adventure, that I now think I’m ready for. But I’ll probably never stop being stubborn and slightly passive aggressive. Compromise? 🙂
7 Things I Totes Don’t Hate About You (thx Miley Cyrus)
- your passion for ultimate frisbee
- your bucket of tea bags from all the lands
- your self-made clay mugs (Karen’s Starshine, yo)
- you calling me shroomie for whatever reason I’ll never understand
- you whipping out your guitar when we should be studying
- pushing me to be a bit more social 😛
- not killing me when I accidentally exploded my apple cider all over your side of the room
And lastly, (ok this makes 8) your crazy artistic side. CHECK OUT HER WATERCOLOR SKILLZ BELOW!
